Job Vacancy: KITCHEN ASSISTANT

The Food and Beverage department at Leeds Playhouse consists of two bars, a kitchen, and a café. This role is part of the kitchen team which comprises a senior chef and kitchen assistants.

The kitchen is open plan with the kitchen team being at the forefront of service direct to the customer.

The menu will change regularly and will cover a diverse range of dishes to coincide with what is happening on stage. This will be a counter style service with a bar menu cooked to order running alongside.

We are currently a 6-day operation (Mon-Sat) with the occasional Sunday and our operating hours are usually between 8am-8pm (except for private functions and parties).

This role reports to the Senior Chef or the Food & Beverage Manager in their absence.

This is a permanent contract, and your hours will vary, usually between the hours of 8am and 8pm Monday to Saturday. Regular evening and weekend work and some unsocial hours.

Pay for this role is £11,856 (24 hours per week) with the option for overtime on a casual basis at £9.50 per hour up to a maximum of 35 hours per week on average.
